This position provides a variable level of support to consumers with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in an intensive outpatient and outpatient program with integrated Psychosocial Rehab treatment team structure to achieve stabilization of mental health conditions, maintain long-term sobriety, recovery and positive life changes..
This includes but is not limited to providing individual and group substance use counseling services and potentially assistance in accessing medical, social, educational, or other appropriate support services as well as linkage to more intensive services if needed. Staff will need to provide frequent monitoring, assessment of service needs, service planning and coordination.
This position is also responsible for providing Psychosocial Rehabilitative services including COPSD services.
This position requires intervention and frequent in-person, long-term contact with individuals, families, and service providers.
This position requires the ability to: identify problem/need areas; work under pressure and in stressful situations in a professional manner; be thorough in assessment and documentation; locate and utilize a variety of community resources to meet the needs of each individual ; assist in negotiating and advocating for each individual with service entities outside the Center; and develop a positive relationship with each consumer.
This position requires utilization and scheduled use of approved curriculum to deliver services in accordance with evidence-based practices.
This position provides rehabilitative services addressing daily and independent living skills such as opportunities to acquire and improve skills for problem solving, accessing services and community resources, communicating effectively, appropriate socialization, and developing a natural support system.
The SUD counselor position requires direct collaboration with team members across the center and relationships with community partners to ensure quality referrals between members.
This position must consistently meet monthly performance targets.

This position will have a schedule Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with flexibility expected.

• Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in social, behavioral or human services (PREFER DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK). A Master's degree is most preferable
• Must be certified as a LCDC
• Experience in mental health/intellectual and developmental disabilities services preferred
• Experience in supported employment and/or supported housing services preferred
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and be an insurable driver.

LCDC/QCC staff will maintain licensure by completing training requirements of a minimum of 40 hours every two years. CI staff will complete on-going study and training in preparation for licensure testing and knowledge of working with substance abuse consumers.
