This position will work as part of the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team team and will perform crisis assessment services and crisis follow up services to adults and children in mental health crisis in a five county area. This position will work on varied shifts and to cover crisis services for all counties in the Center catchment area. This position is responsible to perform crisis assessment services to assist persons in mental health crisis to access needed treatment and referrals, including in-patient hospitalization as needed. These services will be mostly mobile crisis assessments at consumer residences, hospitals, jails and other community sites. This employee will need to have effective communications in dealing with law enforcement, local hospitals, judiciary and other social service agencies to resolve the crisis needs of the callers. Must be able to work under pressure with stressful situations while maintaining a professional manner. This position's shift may fall on a holiday, which will be considered a regularly scheduled work day.
Shift for this position is Saturday - Sunday, 8am - 8pm, Wednesday 8p-8a plus a 4 hour variable shift.
Requires a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a social, behavioral, human service or health-related field including, but not limited to, psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, educational psychology, education, and criminal justice.
Prefer previous mental health work experience with adult and child mental health consumers.
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and be an insurable driver.
