The Clinic Medical Assistant position is responsible for following Medication Clinic protocols. Clinic will serve Adult/Child/Adolescent MH patients. Psychiatric services may be provided in face to face, telemedicine or other electronic means and competency in all these areas is required. Non-direct care activities include prepping and auditing the medical records for each visit prior to assessment by the physician/physician extender or clinic nurse; requesting laboratory studies and other diagnostic procedures; transcribing physician/physician extender orders as written; accurate calculation and writing of prescriptions of medication for physician review/signature (either in paper form or electronic health/prescribing records), assessment and reporting to the physician or licensed nurse any symptoms, adverse reactions or change in client status. License must be maintained as a condition of employment. The position may work one to two Saturdays a month.
